privacy

kea is a mac app that isn't out yet. right now this site does one thing: it keeps a waitlist so we can tell you when kea's ready. this page covers exactly what that involves.

kea is run by show me kea (ABN 15 257 690 760), based in melbourne, australia. "we" and "us" on this page means show me kea.

what we collect

when you join the waitlist we save:

• your email
• the role you pick after signing up, if you pick one
• where you came from: the utm tags in the link you followed and the site that sent you
• which signup form you used
• your country, worked out by cloudflare from your connection. we keep the two-letter country code only, never your ip address
• when you signed up

that's it. no name, no phone number, no payment details.

why

to email you when kea is ready, and to understand who's interested and which posts and links are working. we don't sell your details, rent them or use them for ads.

who else touches it

a few services run this site. each one only gets what it needs to do its job.

• cloudflare hosts the site and stores the waitlist in a private database.
• cloudflare turnstile checks that signups come from a person, not a bot. it looks at signals from your browser to do that, under cloudflare's own privacy policy.
• cloudflare web analytics counts page visits. it doesn't use cookies and doesn't follow you to other sites.
• when kea is ready we'll send the launch email through an email service. we'll name it on this page before anything is sent.

cloudflare is a us company, so your details may be stored or processed outside australia.

cookies

this site doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies. it uses your browser's session storage to hold onto the utm tags from the link you arrived on until you sign up. that clears when you close the tab.

how long we keep it

until kea launches and you've had the launch email, then for as long as you stay subscribed. if you unsubscribe or ask to be removed, we delete your details within 30 days. if kea never launches, we delete the whole waitlist.

your choices

• tell you what we hold about you
• fix anything that's wrong
• delete it

we'll reply within 30 days, usually much sooner. every email we send has an unsubscribe link.

the kea app

the app isn't released yet, so it doesn't collect anything. it's being built around two rules: recordings stay on your mac, and anything private, like passwords, customer details or card numbers, gets blurred before it leaves your computer. before kea launches, this page will get a full section on what the app does and doesn't collect, and we'll email the waitlist when it does.

changes

if we change this page we'll update the date at the top. if a change affects how we use your details, we'll email you first.
